Our friends at Craft Republic have done it again! Today saw the arrival of a few new beers from their catalog, as well as restocks on a few old favorites.
From heavy hitters Evil Twin Brewing, we saw the delivery of a couple new brews. You’re In The Jungle Baby! kicks things off. The story goes that Jeppe from Evil Twin had dinner with Brad from Jackie O’s Brewing and the Mexican-inspired dessert they had “blew their minds.” This release uses pasilla chili, honey, tangerine peel and cocoa nibs. This 12% ABV beer is in 12oz cans and comes just in time for stout season.
Also coming from Evil Twin is a new canned IPA. Breaking The Waves is a double-dry hopped imperial IPA brewed with lactose and generous amounts of Simcoe, Citra and Amarillo hops. Coming in at 10% ABV, the earliest online reviews are positive. People are saying this “half-hazy” and “juicy” imperial IPA hides its high abv quite well. Plus, don’t hop-heads love that “double dry hopped” descriptor? Give it a try! Tallboys available at all 3 locations.
We also saw the highly limited delivery of beers from “______ Brewing.” It’s okay, the name confused me as well. 12% Imports is the national supplier distributors for brands like Evil Twin and Stillwater (Craft Republic represents them in Missouri). They’ve started their own nano-brewing operation called “Blank Brewing” (stylized on packaging with the _____) Whatever the hell they’re called, they brought us a new NE-styled IPA. This one packs an odd adjunct… FRUITY PEBBLES. What?! While this brewery seems to be mysterious and veiled in providing much of any information online, I think I’ll have to give this one a try.
Your Phone Number comes in 12oz cans.
Stillwater Artisanal has been dropping hop-hit after hop-hit lately. Soft Pack continues the trend. Soft Pack is a double dry-hopped IPA with lactose and oats, as well as Amarillo, Huell Melon and Galaxy hops. Coming in at 6%, this is sure to be a juicy, hazy treat. And in this part of the country – take ‘em where you can get ‘em!
Speaking of Stillwater, they recently collaborated with Blackberry Farm Brewery. I recently covered BBF and wrote about their beer Classic Saison. Sensibility is a mixed culture fermented saison coming in at 6.8% ABV. Packaged by Blackberry Farm, this beer is in 375ml cork/cage format bottles.
Also from Blackberry Farm comes Blueberry Rhubarb. This farmhouse ale is brewed with (you guessed it) …blueberries and rhubarb. Also featuring ginger (doesn’t roll off the tongue as easily if it was in the name), this beer is in 750ml cork/cage bottles.
Plenty of other great beers were restocked as well. A few highlights include:
–Omnipollo’s Noa “pecan mudcake stout” is back in limited quantity.
-Tilquin Oude Gueuze is still somehow on our shelves. As a big lambic guy, this beer is one of my all-time favorite gueuzes.
-Stillwater On Fleek is back in time for stout weather as well.
…+ many, many more!
Hopefully your holiday planning doesn’t have you pulling your hair out just yet… And if it does, let us help you take the guesswork out of picking up the right bottle! Stayed tuned for some Thanksgiving beer pairing suggestions!
