Come Climb The Sour Mountain With Us!

Yesterday was a perfect storm of new brews in our beer department. Our friends at Shelton Brothers and Craft Republic both hit us one after another. Let us begin…

Holy-Mikkeller-Batman! It’s no secret that Mikkeller is a favorite of many of our staff. Recently they’ve been releasing a new series of canned Berliner Weisses called “Hallo Ich Bin Berliner Weisse.” We’ve seen Cherry, Apricot, Raspberry and Passionfruit so far. This week brings FOUR new flavors. Blueberry, Mango, Pineapple and Watermelon are all available at all three stores. Shelton Brothers had these to try at Crane’s Festival Of The Lost Township last weekend. Anyone get a taste? These are fantastic, the can art is great and the price is on point. Sour Tallboys? Yes please!

Additionally, we received four new flavors from the Spontan Series. Mikkeller has been releasing flavored variants of their lambic base-beer for years. We’ve seen just about everything – or so we thought! SpontanCarrot, SpontanLemon, SpontanFigs and SpontanYuzu all dropped as well. Also new from Mikkeller is a collaboration with lambic-veterns Boon. Oude Gueze is a collaborative Gueuze and is an outstanding bottle for $18.99. This beer is drinking great now, and will cellar great as well!

Grimm Artisanal Ales brought some new flavors as well. Sumi Cacao is their imperial stout with vanilla and cacao. Passion Dome is a dry-hopped sour with passionfruit. A few other suprise and super limited selections came as well: Super You, Blueberry Pop!, Living Daylights and Boysen Raspberry Pop! are all in very short supply (a few bottles per store), so act quick! Prairie Artisan Ales brings us Imaginary Friends, a 7% ABV IPA in 4pk Cans! They also brought Vape Tricks, a sour ale with cherries (also 4pk Cans).

I have exciting news in the Crooked Stave department. We receieved a new shipment of kegs of Hop Savant, St. Bretta, Petite Sour Blueberry/Raspberry for our growler station and got them at a much better price than before. So look for really awesomely priced growlers of those beers in the coming weeks! Bottles of Petite Sour Tart Cherry are on the shelves now, as well L’Brett d’Blueberry (in 750s!) and Surette Reserva Palisade Peach.

Evil Twin keeps rolling out the 4pk hits. Tropical Itch is a berliner weisse with passionfruit and comes in 4pk 12oz cans. Sumo in a Sidecar is an Apricot IPA in 4pk 16oz cans. We also restocked on their collabs with Omnipollo, Old Fashioned Lemonade IPA and Pink Lemonade IPA are both back in stock at all 3 stores. These are great in this last ditch-heat burst we’ve been feeling this week.

That covers most of it, but there’s always something new rolling through the door. If you’re a growler person, this week would be a good one to pick up a growler or three – 25% of all growler sales are being donated to Hurricane Irma victims/relief work. As always, hope you’re having a good week and hope to see you soon!
