Winter Tea Julep
- 3 oz. Reiger’s Kansas City Whiskey
- 1.5 oz Brown Sugar Syrup (recipe below)
- 10 oz boiling water
- 2 peppermint tea bags
Brown Sugar Syrup:
Bring 1/4 cup of brown sugar and 1/4 cup of water to boil in a sauce pan over high heat. Once mixture starts to boil, lower heat to simmer and let the mixture cook for approximately 7 minutes. Pour into a separate container to let the Brown Sugar Syrup cool.
Bring 10 oz of water to boil, then separate into two glasses, putting a peppermint tea bag in each glass. Let the tea steep for about 4 minutes and then remove the bags. Pour 3/4 oz of Brown Sugar Syrup into each glass, followed by 1.5 oz of Reiger Whiskey in each. For garnish, add mint.
